Default Question about Teraflex HD carrier

Right now I am running my spare on my stock carrier and because it has a backspacing of 3.75inch it sticks out a little bit. I have already extended the bumpstops and everything is pretty solid but I think it looks funny hanging back so far and would love to find a carrier that puts the tire closer to the tailgate where I can use the OEM bump stops without the extender.

I am considering the the Teraflex HD carrier but I can't find any information on what range of adjustments it makes.

On the Teraflex can I adjust it so my 3.75inch BS wheel is close enough to the tailgate it hits the OEM bump stops?

Actually I take that back, you can prob do without the hinge and just get the mount itself, if that's what you were talking about, my bad for jumping to conclusions

What size tire?

yea I am still weighing my options... I might try the smittybuilt tire carrier but I can't get a definitive answer on if it will bring my tire close enough... I have seen it bring wheels with 4.5inch all the way to the oem bumps but I have yet to see it used with a 3.75bs wheel.

You're only talking .75" difference. I have 4"bs and for now I stuck a racquetball between the bumps and tire.

yea I have extened my bump stops... and when I go wheeling I take the spare off and throw it in the cargo area to keep stress off the tailgate. Just sometimes when I walk out to my jeep I notice it looks like its haning out pretty far. Not sure if its worth throwing a bunch of money at to fix it but I just wanted to know what my options were... I am still on the fence about the teraflex carrier b/c I am not sure about that brake light relocation bracket... I didn't really want to relocate my license plate to my tire and I don't think it has a white light for the license plate so its not even legal for me to run my plate there anyways.

There's a number if solutions for third brake light, can't you leave your plate where it is and fab up a led third brake light in your center cap or something?

You will need a TeraFlex wheel spacer #1055005 if you use the stock wheel with the adjustable mount.

I am using a 15 inch rim with only 3.75 bs... I was wondering if it the mount would be able to pull a wheel with that backspacing close to the tailgate
