Adding Rubicon Shocks to my Unlimited Sport S
Has anyone put Rubicon shocks on their 4dr Unlimited Sport S? I am thinking about doing some minor mods and upgrades and have a chance to get some Rubicon shocks and coils for a descent price. Will this do anything to my Sport S (lift it any or give it any noticeable benefit). Is it even worth it or am I wasting my time? It would be nice to add an inch or two so I can run 33's.
if your coils still have the bar codes on them you can look at the last two digits of all 4 of them and compare them to the coils you are going to buy.
There is a great thread about this here:

The biggest gains are usually seen by people who start with a 2dr jk that came with a soft top and they switch to 4dr coils that came off a jk that shipped from the factory with a hard top. If you already have one of the higher number springs you won't get much boost.
As far as shocks you can swap the Rubi shocks into your JK, but its only a slight upgrade.
IMHO the amount of effort it takes to install these springs and shocks, unless you get them for almost nothing I think you are better off just getting a budget boost and/or aftermarket shocks. For one reason, since you have a 4 door, its very unlikely swapping to a rubi spring will give you enough boost to run 35's.
If your main goal is to run 35's on a budget, the RC budget boost runs for $130 MSRP, and if you don't replace the OEM shocks you most likely won't have any trouble with your front driveshaft drooping too far. This set up will get you what you need to run 35inch tires as I have seen a handful of people run this set up no problem on and off road.
If you want more flex, b/c you have the 2013 you will need to eventually look into getting a new front driveshaft and long travel shocks. But if you ever decide to do that you will have no trouble selling the budget boost $70-80 to recoupe most of your original cost of putting it on.

ok i took a fall on my head the other day playing hockey so i cant really read thru that thread so any input would be great.
i have been thinking about getting a little more lift since i added after market bumpers. so i have 17's in the front an 58's in the rear. I bought some rubicon take off shocks but now i am wondering if i get a budget boost /leveling kit or get a set of 19 and 60 springs.
i dont want a harsh ride but wouldnt mind reducing the roll when i corner.

I was running 33 x 10.5 BFG's before the lift/suspension swap with NO issues. The lift/suspension swap netted me 2.75" which means I got 1/4" from the spring change. This is consistant with reading before you get about 1/4" per number with a JKU.
I really like the lift and it drives great. I have no pulling or tracking issues despite doing the install myself. My local 4x4 shop will be doing an alignment check this Friday.

You still need the shock extensions with the TF 2.5" BB. The Rubicon shocks are an inch longer but you will not get full articulation without the extensions.
BTW I upgraded to 19/60's with Rubi shocks and noticed a much firmer ride from my 16/58's. It's not a boat anymore over bumps and in turns. I picked them up for free so it was worth it. Also to note I'm at 38.5" at all four fenders now (TF 1.5 Lvl Kit installed too) with AEV and PSC bumpers.
