Default teraflex 2.5 inch HD lift

hey guys, has anyone installed the 2.5 inch hd coil kit? even with axle at full droop i cant get the new springs in with the extended bump stops. do i have to use spring compressors or does someone have a better idea?

You have to put the bumpstops in the spring and attach them after you put the spring on. It can still be a little difficult. If that doesn't work you can also unbolt your front driveshaft as it might be hitting the crossmember if you have an auto. Beware though as this might over extend your brake lines.

I went to Harbour Frieght and got a set of Coil Compressors for $15 and mine went in without disconnecting anything other than shocks and sway bars. Just be careful using them, a compressed spring is a nasty thing if it lets go.

Is it safe to assume you have an automatic? If so, you need to remove the auto tranny skid plate as it is holding up your front drive shaft and preventing you from getting enough droop. Spring compressors will not be needed for this job - trust me, I have installed 5" coils this way and have had no problems.

yep i have the automatic. i actually already took the skid off cuz i followed your write-up (which is great btw). thanks for that. i took the bump stops off and put them inside the spring and they slid right in! thanks for your help guys.
