Default truss vs sleeves: whats the verdict?

Been doing research on reinforcing the front d30. Lots of talk about sleeves and truss. Bout 50/50

Was looking at evo sleeves or artec truss kit. One of these will go along with some c gussets

So whats the verdict? Should I get the sleeves or the truss?

Truss will spread the load over a larger area. With that in mind. ..Not all are created equal. I recommend artec http://www.artecindustries.com/JK-Fr...uss_p_312.html

If stay away from truss unless them guy installing/ welding knows how to install with the cooling process per weld.

I agree with shock. This is the same thing I may go to depending on if decide to stick with the D30. (Got my eye on an LS2 and a pair of D60's). I dont remember who did this but here is the finished result of his install.

As long as the installer of truss knows how to weld. Improper welding can do more damage when doing a truss

I would do the gussets and maybe sleeves, and leave it alone. The housing isn't the weak point on a D30, it the small size of the ring and pinion gear. If you plan on wheeling hard, I would put my money towards a D44 or D60.

I hear that a lot too, gussets and truss would cost me about 700 installed. How much would it be for a D44 installed? If it runs 4k, then I might as well get the gussets and truss and hope for the best

I agree with Ryan, if you're planning on doing trusses your better off starting with at least a D44.

But as others have pointed out do not have just anyone with a HF welder go to town, you could run into some interesting issues
