Default Which Tire rating for offroad and DD

Buying new tires and rims.
been reading that some believe an E rating is to stiff for a DD.

Basically I use my Jeep as a DD, and I also wheel it pretty hard.
We go to Colorado several times a year and Moab and Arizona about once a year..

Is an E rating to stiff of tire for this.

give you opinion..
I think others might also be interested.

thanks

I love my E-Rated BFG A/T tires. Great in everything for me. I don't need much sidewall flexing or airing down.

I needed more milage, and that's what E-Rated is good for. I can't feel a difference from my old D-rated tires, and they were same kind. So I'm going E-Rated from now on.

I'm very happy with my E tires as well. They do better if you run the air pressure on the low side, and you can't beat the durability.

X3 on the "E" rated tires and as stated earlier run them slightly lower psi. I run mine at about 30 psi.

I am running 285/75 16 toyo open country a/t 2's e rated and they are very smooth and quiet. It seems many do not like E rated tires but I wonder if those people have actually tried them or just parroting what they have read. I will say that if you were riding in my 13 jku and you did not know what tire rating I had you would guess they were C rated. I am currently running 37 psi. I was running 34psi but I have decided to keep upping it a bit until it gets harsh.

I run mine at 24 and they seem them same as my old d range. My sidewalls seem to flex decent aired down , but i have a narrow rim..

Not to hijack, but is there a fuel economy difference between D/E? Overall firmer tires do better, but how does that work once the psi are down?
