hey guys, i currently have a 2.5" lift but wanted something bigger, im trying to part together my own lift a bit at a time because of cost. i was wondering what i needed off the bat to start off to make it driveable, this is what i was already thinking. anybody have some advice, or should i just buy a complete kit
1. 5.5" RK coils,
2. 6" swaybar disconnects,
3. drop pitman arm

I personally would buy the kit, but what size tires are you planning on running? That's enough lift to run 40's. And regardless of the lift you choose, I would skip the drop pitman arm.

With that tall of a lift, your going to need a lot more stuff just to make it drivable. Just buy the parts that you can afford. And stow them away until you can get the rest.

Plan for an adjustable trackbar, adjustable control arms, and driveshafts too...

Yeah, with 5.5" coils, your parts list is WAY too short. And as suggested before, skip the drop pitman arm.

There is a reason a full kit is so expensive. They come with lots of parts, none of which are not really needed. You can buy several different budget type kits up to the 3-4" range, but after that the budget kits fade out because there are so many more needed components. Any higher than that and its hard to get away without new control arms, track bars and brackets, steering correction, brake lines, driveshafts etc etc etc. Not to mention, at that height Im sure you are planning on big tires.... like in the 38-40" range, and thats just a whole new money robbing upgrade.

My suggestion is to keep saving and just buy a complete kit. You can buy pieces here and there, but you will typically pay more in the end. And honestly, at that height you really need everything in the kit.

Also, if you are looking for a budget minded suspension, I would suggest sticking at 3 1/2" or less.
