Decisions Decisions AEV rear bumber and Tera flex tire carrier
Trying to decide between aev rear bumper without tire carrier and Teraflex tire carrier or just Aev both bumper and tire carrier.
Really having a hard time with this, im thinking it will look better with teraflex tire carrier and a little cheaper over all.
Aev accessories are very expensive like there fuel and hi lift mount. Any body here have Aev rear bumper, tire carrier and for how long is it still holding up well and anything positive or negative would be helpful.

I am considering the same question. I have the added issue that I need to bring it onto a plane to get it to Russia.
I would have gone for the LOD but the bumper is too heavy at 100 lbs for the plane. However it is the best linked bumper IMO.
Second choice for me is TF with a bumper w/o tire carrier.
At 60 lbs AEV is the best choice but at 80 lbs the PSC is the nicest choice. As well as better looking you can incorporate LED backup lights. I am leaning to the TF with PSC.

BTW Chris at LoD will cut the rear bumper for free to allow Rigid Ind dually D2's
The cost of LoD with mounts and Dually D2's will be similar to AEV but weight is more.
Even the TF plus LoD plus Dually's will be about the same as AEV (not trying to dissuade you from AEV as they are good bumpers but giving my opinion)

I'm running the AEV set up and am quite pleased with it. I can't imagine running the bumper only, as the tire carrier integrates perfectly. Sure, the price blows but I promise you I won't want to switch set ups at any point.

just love how they look, matching the jeep colour.
I had them painted, atx didn't recommend Pc'ing them because it would add too much thickness to the ring.

I plan to go the route of AEV bumper, and TF carrier..
I love AEV stuff... and generally hate TeraFlex stuff...
AEV is probably sad that they didn't think of the integrated carrier 1st. And TF is probably suprized they did think of it.... It's uncharacteristically well made, and elegant for them.
It seems to me that an OEM like carrier has a lot less oppertunity for failure and is more functional, as it probably holds the spare closer to the vehicle, with less chance for play in the set-up and elliminates the need for patches to cover the OEM spare tire carrier bolt holes.. It surely weighs less.... enhances the strength of the tail-door, and frankly it looks a whole lot cleaner than any bumper tube steel solution which adds more moving parts, weight, etc.
If it's the AEV carrier accessories that you desire... The TF carrier does have threaded spots for add ons as well.... they'll surely be selling that stuff... or you can make your own mounts for the accessories. I'm not too wild about AEV's fuel tank, etc.... but to each their own.

I contemplated the exact same thing. Ultimately, I chose to go the route of the TF carrier only so far. I decided that I would save the money now and really make sure I wanted the bumper later just so I wouldn't make an impulse buy. Plus it's still pretty cold here and I would rather install a bumper in warmer weather. Still love the look of the AEV and contemplating spending the tax refund on it. Love the look of the LOD as well, but I like the more name brand products and this would probably prefer the AEV solely based on that.
