Default 2013 JK Plans with quesions

My plans have changed so many times lately. I'm in college and got a good paying job finally.

I'm going to pull the trigger on a new 2013 JKU Sport with a few options soon. I have an option between auto or manual

I have some build plans that ill be able to afford right off the bat pretty much. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

I was thinking AEV 3.5 SC Lift. What else will I need with that lift?

I read about needing new driveshafts so maybe 1310 Coast driveshafts?

I also planned on some 20" fuel hostage rims, but what offset? FUEL OFF ROAD * HOSTAGE MATTE BLACK Sizes

35" Toyo open countries. 3.73 is what would be coming stock on the jeep so I'm hoping 35s wont be a problem.

I'm assuming I wont need new fenders with that lift but I love the Smitty XRC fenders. Unfortunately I've heard they're illegal in NJ.

Do you plan on wheeling this rig?

The drive shaft is definitely a good idea at that height even if you don't wheel it.

If you do plan on wheeling it we wouldn't recommend the 20" wheels. You want more side wall than you do wheel.

Before you worry about gearing it you should put the tires on and see how it feels. The new engine has much more power so you might be fine with out gears.

Everything is illegal in NJ!! Those fenders look really good and I don't think the cops would hassle you. We have the 7" flares in the front so our tires stick our a good amount and we haven't been hassled at all.

If you plan on wheeling your rig you might want to look into a lift that used control arms instead of drop brackets. Rock Krawler is a great option.

Let us know a little bit more about your main usage and we can help get you set up. Good luck with the build.

By the way once you do get this rig set up let us know if you want to go to Rausch Creek.

I plan on wheeling it moderately. Sort of like a weekend warrior. Mostly a DD from school to work though.

How much is the Rock Krawler lift?

Ill definitely try to come over to Rausch Creek when I get her. It looks fun over there

would 18"s be good? Or should I just get 17"s?

Rausch is definitely a good time.

We run 15's on our JK. We know plenty of people that run 18's and don't have problems.

You will want at least a Flex system. The Flex system will give you the adjustable front lower control arms which will increase your ground clearance as well as allow you to adjust your caster. Rock Krawler also offers other kits that might suit your needs better.

Moderate wheeling and 35s. Add C gussets and sleeves or a truss to the front axle.

X2 on the axle reinforcements. I have Fuel Octane's that are 18x9 with -12 offset which is 4.5 backspace. They work great with 35's.
