Default Brake calipers - 15/16" wheels

Sorry if this is on another thread, couldnt find it searching on my phone - I've always wanted the 33x12.5x15 setup, but after going to my local town faire tire (fell sucker to the buy 3 get 1 free sale), they were saying only 17" wheels will clear the brake calipers... But I see people running that size all the time.

Do people run spacers to clear the calipers or do the guys at TFT just have no idea what theyre talking about? Ps have a 2.5 RC lift sitting in the garage I'm going to throw on once I get the 33s.

16's fit with out a problem. They came from the Factory with 16's.

15's will fit however you might need to clearance the caliper a little bit. The caliper has a high spot that is a casting mark. If you clearance that then you have no issues at all running 15's.

When running 15's some future upgrades may be a little more difficult to do but they do work.

I am running 35x12.5x15 bfg km2s with soft 8 wheels without a problem and no spacers or anything. I have seen people people post that sometimes they need to grind the calipers a bit

Thanks guys! Might be worth looking into 305/70/16s then to avoid some headache down the line...

I am running 15" alloy wheels and it is TIGHT! After market tie rod ends would most likely not work.

I did not have to clearance anything to make this work.

I have run 2 different sets of Pro Comp 52s on 2 different JKs and they both fit fine with no rubbing and no grinding needed.

08 JKU 15x10 3.75" BS
11 JKU 18x8 3.75 BS

I did have to trim the air dam but that is plastic and easy to do. BTW, that has nothing to do with a 15" wheel.

Discount tire has a list of 15's that fit, such as the MB TKO's

Default AR23's will work......

I just bought a set of AR23's in 15 x10 and 35x12.50x15's BFG KM2's for a 2012 JKU from my local Discount Tire in Sprinboro, OH. The guys there are great! We ordered one wheel and the guys did a test fit on front and back and it fit fine. A little tight, but other than that it works just fine. Lift, wheels and tires are sitting in the garage now. Am Racing wheels have a tendancy to get eaten up by salt so i'm going to wait until spring to throw them on. I may just keep the set of Rubicon take off's i bought w the Jeep for winter time use and/or if i ever decide to go back to stock if i sell it. I can't say enough how customer friendly Dicount Tire is! Having gotten somewhat used to crappy customer service, it really is good to see a company give a damn and appreciate your business.
