New to Jeeps. Wife and I just purchased a 2013 JKU Rubicon (auto) and I am akready looking to modding it up a bit.

To do list: lift, 37" tires, new front/rear bumpers, winch, upgraded led lights, dual battery setup... the list goes on.

However my question is regarding lift/tires.

The Rubi comes with the e-dico and the locking axles. If I lift it (looking for a 3.5 lift) will these parts go out the window and need to be replaced? Whats the highest lift/tire combo I can do that wont necessitate throwing these parts out. Hate to have to remove them after paying a premuim for them.

A lift won't affect the operation of your e-discos except that you will want to run adjustable swaybar disconnect links, which some lift kits include. There is no effect on your lockers.

The question of the largest lift/tire combo you can get isn't very relevant to the rubicon e-disco/lockers, but more so many other factors, like your budget. Axle reinforcement, gearing, etc

 

Welcome to The forum. With 37" Your lockers in the disco will be fine However you will need to upgrade all your axles I'm sure someone will and let you know and with a 3.5 lift you will need drive shafts maybe even gears.

I have a 2013 JKU Rubicon as well. I ordered the metalcloak 3.5 game changer lift after extensive research. I already have my 37" Goodyear MTR's. I am not replacing drive shafts, kit comes with everything I need. You have many of options out there. Metalcloak offers replacement fenders that allow you to run 37" tires with stock suspension set up, no lift necessary. FWIW.

 

Did you get the 3.73 gears, or the 4.10's?

Put C gussets very high on your list of stuff to do. The factory ball joints are crap so I would suggest you budget to do them at the same time as your C gussets. If your going to play on rocks the factory axles are pretty soft, chromolys will save a lot of headache.

Congrats on the purchase. My recommendation for the upgrades you're looking at doing.

1. Sleeve and Gusset front axle - I went with EVO, they're well priced.
2. When you upgrade to 37's make sure to regear. I chose 5.13's they seem to be what most people go with. I go mostly rock crawling with mine.
3. Also, i'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but perhaps redoing your steering. With bigger tires, you're having to move a lot of weight around. I initially went with PSC Hydro-Assist but am now going in another direction with my build.
