Default 40" Tires

I am looking at running 40" tires on my JK...wanted to see what it takes? I am currently running 37 and Have always wanted 40's.

I have the axles and the motor to run them but not sure on the lift? I currently have a 4.5" lift.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Im pretty sure there is a dude named planman on this forum that has 40s with a 3 inch suspension lift. Im not 100 percent sure I think you would need

3-4 inch suspension lift w. all the goodies
maybe 1 inch body lift
proper backspacing on wheels
trimmed pinch seams/rock rails
trimmed fenders
adjusted steering stops
stubby front and rear bumpers
right gears
right axles
ball joints
steering assist

Yea you need to see planmans build thread. I think he showed all the different stages in a thread in the write up page. He did multiple builds with flat fenders, body lifts etc. it's good info

He hasn't added the post back yet after the drama. You will have to read it here. It is a big step and takes alot of green.
