Default Another JKU on 35s post.....

Ok, I know, I know........I've searched and researched this topic and my brain is mush! I just want to make sure that I'm not over looking anything.

So, I have an 2011 JKU Rubicon, auto, 41K. Here's what I'm thinking. I'd like to go up to 35's.

Teraflex BB
35's on stock rim
1.5 inch spacers
4.88 or 5.13 gears, haven't decided yet.
some sort of speedo healer

Since I have 41K miles, should I go ahead and replace my shocks while I'm in there?

Have I over looked anything? This is my daily driver and used for mild off roading.

Thanks.

I'm sure there are more experienced opinions on this but from what I've read wait and see how it drives with the stock gears. If you have 4.10's there should be no problem even 3.73's should be tolerable some people run 3.21's. For the most part it is just personal preference unless you are doing a lot of towing. As for shocks I probably would replace them while you have everything apart. Lots of people here go with Bilstein 5100s. They will also give you a little bit more down travel than your stock shocks.

I'm running 315/75/16's GY MTR w/ Kevlar and stock 4:10s on my Rubi and Im pretty damn impressed. I might one day regear but that'll be a ways down the road.

When you say BB are you talking about the spacer lift only? If so, add bumpstops to your list. I'm running 35" KM2's that are actually about 34" now with 3" springs and trimmed rubi rails and pinch seam. I cleared everywhere except at full stuff. The top of the rear tire rubbed the top pinch seam and the front (if I remember right) rubbed the support bracket for the front fender.

How wide are you wanting to go on the tires? That is what is going to dictate whether or not you can run a stock wheel and your spacers. If you want to run pizza cutters, then you should be fine.

I have 4.10's. I tow a 3k pound trailer and I'm happy. I'm not happy in the mountains towing it, but I expected that. If I'm not towing, I'm happy with my performance everywhere.

It takes nothing to replace shocks. If they need replacing, then yes. If they are fine and they can handle the lift, keep 'em.
