So I knew it would have sometime, I tore the boot on my front drive shaft. So I'm looking for an aftermarket. Which one should I go with.?

 

From what I've read.. the Adams are a good choice/value.. that's probably what I'll do when the time comes.

 

I have a coast... no problems with it... but if I had to buy one today I would also get adams... price can't be beat

 

Coast, I swapped mine out last year and was very nice dealing with Dave at Northridge 4x4 you can check out the right up from Eddy on the project-jk page.

Another option is to shop local. A local driveline shop made me a custom driveline that cost me less than Coast, JE Reel, and Woods. They used Spicer Maintenance Free U-Joints across the whole assemble. They were more expensive than Adams though.

The drive line is about the balance and the type of U-joints you get with it. I like local, because I know they sourced their steel here in the US. Also, this local shop makes drivelines for the local racers and hot rods, so they know what they're doing.

Shop local, and see if there is a hotrod shop near you.

 

You don't need a new shaft just because you tore your boot.

 

Why is the front the one to replace the most when the rear is shorter and at more of an angle? Is it because the front axl moves more causing the angle to increae more than what you see when it is sitting there?

 

I know that the tearing of the boots comes from the cross member and that replacing it with an after market you won't have to worry about it.

 

I just picked up a set of adams.
