Default Who is running the stock tire carrier with 35's?

Until I convince my wife that I need the TeraFlex Hinged carrier.. Which will be in 2 weeks when I hit the South Georgia trails.

I'm running the stock carrier which has been about a month and its annoying as hell. I keep hearing it bang around back there. I'm just waiting for the thing to fall off in traffic.

Here is a Picture of what I'v rigged and its not helping...

I would just take it off until you get a proper mount.

I went to Dicks and got some black racket balls to put in that 1" gap between the isolators the other day hopefully that will get me through the next 2 weeks or so.

Get it off there before you jack your tailgate up, especially if you're getting a tire carrier in 2 weeks.

Default bent tailgate

It doesn't take much to bend the tailgate . I bent mine pretty bad with a 35 on it .It takes some bouncing , not how long you go without a tire carrier

Year & a half with it on the stock carrier. Daily driver & been all over with lots of abuse. No damage & I check the welds. Also doesn't rattle or move at all.

I finally figured out what the Banging was. It was my snatch block in the tray hitting my ratchet with the T45 socket attached to it.

I think I'm going to put a sock over it. I hate metal on metal noises when I'm driving down the road.

Been running my stock carrier since last July. Been offroad a bunch with no probs. However, at the first sign of trouble it will be gone and a aftermarket carrier will ordered.
