Default Ready for my first mods!

Ok guys I've finally got permission from the wife to spend around $1k on mods for our 2012 jkus. So what should I do? Should I do a one big mod like bumpers or wheels or should I do a few cheaper ones like HID headlights and a 2" lift and evo complete skid system. I need help to many decision.

The lights are definitely a good upgrade. The factory lights are horrible. Maybe you can do some good deeds around the house and get a budget increase and do both.

Default Mods

Going to embarrass myself, but I swear one my mods that most surprised me (on how much I like it) was the muffler. I needed to get rid of the muffler to make room for a rear winch. Put a Magna Flow in there under the divers seat and I love it. Glasspack would have been overkill, but the rumble is sweet. Still notice it to this day... also I have stick so that helps.

If I were going to do one mod, it would be the tires. The day I put some mud terrains on their is the day I felt I had a rig and not just a Jeep. Won't have enough budget to do tires and wheels, but I highly recommend black rims. I had Chrome on my old TJ and it was a huge pain. The black always look brand new.

If you have a softop, I would ditch it and get an Offroad Heros Fastback top. I get more comments on my top that any other mod I have made.

Pick a mod that takes you from a daily driver to having a true rig!

Haha I got the budget I have because I'm mowing my mother-in-laws yard since her lawn guy quit and my wife's 17year old brother is to spoilt to get out and cut the grass

I dunno. Id seriously consider talking yourself into just buying camping gear or something and not mods if you are only going to work with that budget. Once you start it is a very slippery slope and you will spend a great deal more then you originally thought. Its not terribly hard to spend 20k+ on mods.

You will build your rig over many years everyone starts somewhere and everyone has a budget, you just have to think what you want, do you want to wheel it every weekend or do you want to just make the jeep look better? You can start off with a budget boost and quick disconnects, If you have pets maybe a cargo net would be a good idea, maybe you want to take the top off alot you can get a mesh top or get a bikini top. It all depends what you want, alot of people can say what they did and say that's the only way to go, look around get the best bang for your buck. You don't have to buy top of the line stuff but do some research and make sure you know what your getting and that it's not trash.

no offense but $1000 doesn't go that far...

for a grand if you are interested in wheeling I would look at skid plates either the evo skid system and/or an evap skid, and looking for some Rubicon take off rock sliders for a good deal.

If you want to eventually buy 35's you could look into getting a budget boost and wheel spacers and saving up for some tires.

Thanks guys I know it's not much but its a start. With my schedule we don't get to go wheeling but a hand full times a year. I to get away from the plastic bumpers and crappy lighting. If I go with the lighting I'm thinking of the rebel hellfire HID and a 2" lift. If I go with a bumper I would like a full width. Just so much to think of.
