Default Thinking about running 40s, looking for input from people who have

So I'm thinking about running 40s. Wanted to know if there are major issues with doing so. Hopefully people who run 40s can share their experiences.

I'm currently running:

2012 JKU Rubicon 4.10

Lift:
OME coils about 2-1/2" lift
1.25" body lift
Flat fenders
Trimmed rear pinch seam

Front Axle:
nitro sleeves
gussets
RCV axle shafts
reid knuckles
PP drag link flip

Rear axle:
alloy usa axle shafts

Currently running 37" KM2s. More than a few trips to Rausch on the 37s. No issues running blacks and even reds.

So I've been looking at either 40" Krawlers or 40" KM2s.

Thoughts?

Here is a pic currently on 37 KM2s

That much more rubber you need to upgrade your front/rear axle housings at least Dana 60.You may get away with Dana 44's but will depend on driving style

I think your setup looks good as it is. Be ready to dump a lot of money to run 40's. A good friend of mine just built his with 40" Toyos, D60's, and a 6" Teraflex long arm. He also has a hemi about to go in. It has been a very expensive project, and even though it looks great, it truly isn't a practical daily driver anymore.

Looks like a great set up that you've got IMO I'd stay with what you have for the simple reason that 40's will end up costing more then just money for bigger tires.

Yep I hear you. Sticking with current setup is definately an option. I'm very happy with as is. Right now this is just a thought.
