Default What does ECO do?

When cruising and the ECO light comes on; does it cut off any cylinders like on the Rams or does it just let you know that it is a speed that will improve fuel mileage?

My understanding is its when the rpms and speed are meeting for maximum fuel economy. Does nothing to the cylinders that I have found.

Default Eco

As previously stated it is an indicator ONLY that you're are driving "ECO"nomically. Since I do a lot of driving I have noticed, and you probably have too, that the range of economy that it indicates is pretty wide.

Because I wanted to monitor what my CURRENT MPG is as well as my AVERAGE MPG as is indicated on the JEEP travel computer, I purchased a device called the "scan gauge". This device allows me to track current MPG as well as a number of other things. Some of the functions I find useful are: trip/ trail mileage for this trip(or distance since last reset on the trail), or for the day, fuel consumed and remaining. (It also monitors a lot of other things I have no interest in.) In addition, it will read and reset error codes.

From the factory the Eco light doesn't disable cylinder's... however according to the BullyDog spec sheet, you can turn this feature on for the 2012+ with their tuner.

MDS - Enables 4-cylinder mode (’12-’13 only, 3.6L).

Trinity also has "Disable MDS", but it is a universal tool that feature isn't meant for the JK.
If I cut my V6 to 4cylinders my JK would just set still & grunt.
