Default Spidertrax 1.5/1.75

Hello everyone,

I have been powering through threads on spacers. I am driving a 12 JKUR bone stock and am not looking to heavily mod till I'm on the trails a little more. I am debating spidertrax as I hear they're top on the line

I have always loved the look of spacers and have finally done some trimming on the flares and now it's time to space out

I was wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with spacers... I figure if they go bad they really go bad and can only imagine the headache.

I'm aware of re-tourqing and ensure they are checked after the first few hundred after install.

If anyone wants to chime in on some tips for maintaining and what to look out for along with some horror stories it'd be greatly appreciated .

I ran spacers years ago and didnt like because they caused massive vibrations at higher speeds (talking 80+). From what I understand the new spacers dont have that concern but one thing to think of is they will cause premature bearing failure because you are creating a falcrum on the bearing(think about putting pipe on end of wrench to break loose bolt) That said many have run them for years on this forum and they'll chime in.

As far as the fulcrum issue is concerned, its no worse than getting a wheel with a different offset.

You are 100% incorrect. You are moving the mounting point out 1.5 inches. With a different offset wheel they stay in same spot

You are still moving the point of where the wheel face is out, which in turn moves the center of tire out, which is what puts pressure on the bearings. Wheels with 4.5" offset with no spacers, puts same pressure on the bearings as wheels with 6" offset and 1.5" spacers. With Spacers, you just have an extra part to check to make sure it is torqued to specs.

I have over 30,000 miles on my 1.5 spacers with no problems on trails or on highways.

I used to believe the same thing and got into an argument about it with my family and unfortunately with 4 engineers in the family I was proven wrong. I won't get pulled into an internet argument with people ill never meet so we will have to agree to disagree
