Default 2010 Unlimited Islander Dana 30 questions

I'll try and make the back story as short as possible.

Got into an accident. Geico "fixed" it and gave it back to me. 8 months later, the passenger side control arm bracket on my front axle almost rips completely off. I no longer have Geico and they say it's not related and won't cover it. Esurance takes a look at it and says there is no signs of a new accident so they won't cover it. File a lawsuit, 10 months and a lot of investigation later, I get a settlement check from Geico based on a shops estimate to get it fixed. Shop now tells me that it's going to cost over $1000 more because the estimate was based on the price of the axle housing at that time and they can no longer find one at that price.

The original estimate says I need Right lower control arm, screws and nuts, axle housing and alignment and such. The price on the axle assy was $1062.50... total of $1238.95 in parts and $900+ in labor. I was given a check for $2278.55. It's now going to be over $3200 and I do not have the extra $1000+. From what he said, they only checked LKQ.

Does anyone know of any other options? Anywhere that I can find used parts online or if there are aftermarket parts that will make this any cheaper? Any advice at all would be appreciated. I've already been without my Jeep for 10 months... if I can't find a better price, I'm going to have to look into selling it as it is or giving it back to the bank.

Thanks in advance
-Russell

Unless your axel housing is bent, why don't u just buy heavy duty ca brakets from synergy or poly and have a welder burn them on and pocket the rest.

The housing was twisted in the accident. Which is what caused the bracket to weaken and eventually break.

Take a look at the for sale section. People are always getting rid of their D30's.
