Default Cooper Discoverer STT opinions needed

Hello there everyone,

I'm in the market for new tires and about to pull the trigger on a set of Nitto Trail grapplers when I came across the Cooper Discoverer STT. I've had this tire before on an old Ford Bronco II many years ago and while it performed well it didn't wear well in the front, that is most likely due to the TTB frontend on the Ford. I like the looks of these and they are about $70.00 cheaper per tire in the 37" size than the Nittos. That is a considerable amount when purchasing 5 of them so I figured I'd see what the opinions are of those who are running them.

How are they wearing on your JK? How much mileage did you get out of them? How well did they balance up? Did you have any difficulty getting them to wear evenly? I rotate my tires every 3-5K miles so this usually isn't a problem. How were the tires road manners on the JK?

Thanks, any input is appreciated

Cant speak for the JK, but I had them on my Grand Cherokee and they are awesome tires. Never a issue with wear, or balance. When I got rid of the Grand, I had about 35,000 miles on them and they had at least another 10k on them. They are quiet on road, but get noisier as they wear, only complaint is in Mud they do clog up a bit, and on the street they are a bit slippery. Great tire, and I plan on putting them on the JK when I can summon up the funds.

I have had them on my jk for about 25k miles and only wore about 50%,, great gripping tire, not too much road noise and smooth

I've had them in 35s for 6 weeks. I love them great in deep sticky mud, worked awesome in the bit of sand. Great in snow and gripped on the lava flow beds I go play on. Waaaaay to quiet on the road in my opinion, but I like the crop duster sound. And I've got several compliments on the look, most people around here have f350s with toyo mts (farmers)

A friend of mine ran some on his TJ. They wore quickly, and he didn't care for them. I would go with the trail grapplers.

I am looking at these as well. I believe they are made in America, which is interesting to me.

A friend of mime has them in 32s on a titan and he envies my trail graps. We have both rode in both rides and the trail graps are quieter than the stt but in my opinion you cant go wrong with either choice

I ran them in 33s for about 18 months before going to 35s. I loved them, performed well offroad, can chunk on the rocks a bit, can be slippery on wet pavement but overall they were great. I rotated them at every oil change and they wore evenly. They are quite as well.
