Default Griffin Aluminum Radiator

Anybody running the Griffin Aluminum Radiator in their JK. Do lots of Cali desert runs in the summer and it gets pretty toasty. The 25% extra coolant capacity sounds pretty appealing.

I have seen the radiator but don't anticipate getting it until I have any problems. So far my temp guage has been holding steady even hauling stuff on my trailer.

In Minnesota we run a 50/50 mix coolant/distilled water.
To stay warm at -20F you need this mix.

You might drain say 25% off and add 25% more coolant if you are using a 50/50 mix. I don't know if heat or cold is harder on the coolant but i would suspect heat would break it down. Check and change your coolant if it's a worry.

The stuff is nasty poison and will kill you dog or cat so dispose of it.

On that note of disposal. You can take it to almost any dealership, mechainc shop, or auto store and they will dispose of it properly for no charge. The sewer is not a proper trash can.

Hehhhh heh. Well I better clarify again, I haven't spent any money nor am I planning on spending any money (fingers crossed) on this and am aware of other cooling options including a new thermo.....just like to look at ALL the options and review em, especially on new products that haven't swarmed the market yet.

I didn't get my JK until November, so I'll see aobut summer heat soon enough, but I don't know any other jeep owners that go wheeling in the summer here that have felt a need to replace the stock radiator because it was running hotter than they would like when wheeling.
