Default Question for guys running Adams driveshafts.

I just finished installing my Adams rear driveshaft and was wondering if anyone was able to get the dust cover off the stock yoke? I tried to get mine off but it wouldn't budge so I just installed the rear yoke as is. I guess it will be okay, but was wondering if I need to install that dust cover? The new TC yoke came with a dust cover attached, so I'm wondering why they didn't put one on the rear. Any thoughts on this??

Had the same question when I installed mine a year or so ago. Called the guys at Adam's and they informed me no dust cover is required for the rear, I tried for some time to get the factory dust cover to work before calling. Just torque it up and your good without. Hope this helps.

I just installed front/rear Adams drive shafts on my '12 JKU. I didn't notice dust covers on the Adams TC yokes. I did see little rubber donuts on the inside of my stock TC yokes though, and I transferred those over. I also put a bead of RTV on the splines inside of each yoke.

I didn't bother even trying to transfer the stock dust cover over from my stock yoke at the rear diff.

Been running his driveshafts for the last 5 years on my JK and race TJ. Quality craftsmanship. No dust covers needed.

Nice. Glad to hear more guys are running this way. I did transfer that rubber seal to the new yoke on the TC side and applied some red (high temp) RTV to the splines. Adams said the RTV wasn't necessary. Hopefully this thread helps some others out.

on 2012+ you need both front and rear driveshafts? i was under the impression you only need front in the 4dr flavor and both in the 2dr. i plan only on running 2.5" TF springs with the 3/4" level kit up front

With 2.5" of lift you will not need the front DS right away but if you wheel a lot there is no telling how long you can go. I would get the front first and the rear later, unless you want to upgrade now and keep the stocks for spare or sell.
