I would go with the bumper, don't get me wrong a soft ride is great but the bumper is functional

Had to laugh, biggest decision of your life and it's between shocks and a bumper. :-) Well not knowing much about your rig I'd say shocks. The bumper would look odd on a stock rig if that's your case. Unless you have a rubicon your shock upgrade would be very noticeable. Rubicons come with a nice shock from the factory. You may also consider a leveling kit or a budget boost. Good luck which ever way you go.

Hey buddy, without knowing what you have already done to your Jeep, I would go for the shocks. You can make a stubby out of your bumper if you want to change it up for cheap. This is definitely a huge decision that will follow you for life, so don't take it lightly

I am sorry, buds. I have a two point five inch bb and 33s. The reason for the shocks is because I have the original sports on now. And boy, I hate the stock bumper.

Can I have your life? Seems easy. LOL!!!
Ok, fun is done. Will you need to winch soon? Of not, go with the shocks, you get immediate benefit. But, if you will be in a sticky mud hole or on a rock face, and will need the winch, the shocks aren't going to get you unstuck. Also consider, do you wheel alone or always with someone? If you have a buddy to pull you out, you should consider that as well.

Shocks, if you are using you stock shocks with a 2.5" lift you are severely limiting your suspension travel.

Orange Krush,

As has been said, will you be looking to add a winch soon? If so then go for the bumper. Also, if you ever plan on getting rid of the BB lift and getting a coil lift, will it be the same height as your running now? If you plan on running that lift for a long time, then you should go for the shocks.

The Fox Shocks will make your Jeep ride awesome, and since your still running stock shocks with a lift. You are severely limiting your suspension travel. So if you plan on running that lift for a while, then in my opinion, shocks are the way to go.

On the other hand, the SRC Stinger will be nice because it'll allow you to mount a winch, and give you a solid tow point. I am running that exact bumper on my JK and I love the look and protection it provides. Remember, that if you're putting this on a 2012+ you'll also need a Vacuum Pump Relocation Bracket.

To aid in your decision, here's a shot of my JK with the stinger on it.
