Default 4 broken lug studs on one wheel!!

If you have spacers, please take 20 min this weekend to check your lug studs. I had 4 on one wheel snap with in the last 24 hours. I am glad they went when I was going slow.

I haven't been off roading in months, I didn't hit anything in the road and no going over speed bumps. I heard a clunking last night and had a little shimmy in the steering wheel. I thought it was a tie rod or steering stabilizer and was going to take a look at it all tonight when I got home from work.

My max speed since i heard the clunk was all of 25 mph. When the 4th one went, it was right after I turned left from a stop sign, I was going about 5mph.

Would be useful if you gave us more info, such as model and make of your spacers, etc.

The teraflex spacers are good to go, it was the factory studs on the axle that broke.

66XXX miles and its an 07.

I'm just glad it happened to me and not my wife when she is driving 3 hours out of town next week. Speed limits here are 70+. Also this isnt the 1st time this happened. I had it happen to 2 on the rear a few years ago, but we didn't have spacers on then. As soon as we saw that we went right to the dealership.

Glad to hear that you didn't get hurt I personally have never trusted spacers and a lot of people use them with no problem but once in awhile stuff happens but again glad your ok and that your jeep wasn't seriously injured

Makes me wonder if someone, at some point over torqued the lug nuts, thus weakening them. Not saying you, but someone else perhaps.

I think the same failure could have just as easily happened with a set of aftermarket wheels with less backspacing than stock wheels. I don't think you can blame the spacers here.

+1 Neighbor guy (Big DUDE) came over one day asking for some help in breaking his lugnuts loose on his saab. I was like sure I guess, why is it you can't get them loose? Took a 3 foot breaker bar to break them damn things loose. Discount tire over torqued them. And then Discount forgot to torque one wheel completely on one of my cars and I lost 3 lugnuts and the other 2 were just hanging on. So now I break out the ole torque wrench right in front of the store and double check everything. Pisses them off but I prove my point to all their customers when I'm there.
