Default Pinch seam. How close is to close?

2013 JKUR. 35s are on and rk 2.5 flex lift. I have an inch from my pinch seam to my rock rail. Is that within safe tolerances or should I trim it back? Thanks in advanced.

Is that an inch at ride height or an inch at max up travel. Its better to be safe than sorry and trim that pinch seam!

Good point. Inch astride height. Does the rer axel move much horizontally? I was thinking all flex was vertical. I am going to flex everything tommorow to check for any issues. Thanks again.

I thought Jeep started trimming the pinch seam on the 2013's. Can you take a picture?

Looks like it applies to newer 2013s... check this out:

News: Wrangler quietly altered for modders (updated)

If yours is cut at a 45 degree angle like in that pic, you're already good to go. I had to cut mine because it was square like a box cutter edge.

Neither is mine. Do I have to be concerned about horizontal articulation. I am trying to attach a file butlers getting an error from the tapatAlk. Thanks again.

Mine is an earlier '13 before the change in manufacturing. I figured it wasn't worth the risk and fixed it. It maybe took an hour to do. I used a sawsall to cut the rail and the pinch seam. A quick shot of paint on the exposed metal and call it good.

Idk about horizontal flex but as the tire moves up in the wheel well it will get closer to the pinch seam because the tire gets wider towards the middle of it.
