Default Rock Krawler 3.5" max travel vs teraflex 4" with flexarms

Looking at these two lifts for my unlimited to run 37s. I like that the RC had the high steer kit, but it's only 3.5", compared to the ~5" from the TF. I have heavy front bumper with winch, heavy rear lod with tire carrier, gas cans, water. I also wheel with normally 3-4 ppl in the jeep, plus coolers, so I carry alot of weight.

I'm thinking the TF, but do I need to worry about a high steer kit? I plan on replacing the front DS.

I wheel in Moab a lot, and don't have the clearance I want with my TF 2.5" coils with 35s.

Opinions?

The high steer will help with bump steer and keep the steering geometry correct. You might lose some uptravel with the flipped drag link though. You should run a 3" bumpstop to keep the drag link from hitting the frame when the front passenger side tire is stuffed into the fender opening. You could get an extra inch of uptravel with using a 2" bumpstop if you don't have a flipped drag link.

I ran the 3.5" Max Travel with 37" Toyo M/T tires and flat fenders on my JKU. I have since upgraded to the 3.5" RK Long Arm, but I don't run with as much weight as you do. I have the full width steel bumpers, winch, sports cage, skids, etc..., but I don't load up with a bunch of passengers.

I don't have any experience with the Teraflex lift, but I know the Teraflex Long Arm setup hangs down lower under the Jeep than my RK Long Arm suspension.

I've run both and prefer the Rock Krawler lift.

Think I will have any issues rubbing with 37s? I don't want to lose any articulation. I'm leaning towards the RK and would be for sure if I could get a 4-4.5" lift from them.

I was wheeling with a guy this weekend with the rk setup and the only rub he had was on factory rear bumper and driver side rear fender flare (uncut) so if you are running flats and aftermarket rear bumper you should be golden.

You won't get 4-4.5" of lift from the RK 3.5" lift. With aftermarket bumpers, winch, and tire carrier, you will get 3.5" from the RK lift. If you are leaning towards the RK setup and want more lift, get the 3.5" Max Travel and substitute their 5.5" springs instead of the 3.5" springs that come in the kit. With the 5.5" springs, you shouldn't have any rubbing.

If you use the 3.5" springs, you will need flat fenders to clear 37" tires. I'm running the RK 3.5" lift with flat fenders to clear my 37" tires. I had the 3.5" Max Travel with 37" tires, but in the picture below, I'm running the RK 3.5" Long Arm lift. It has the same lift height as the Max Travel. The pictures should give you an idea of how well the 37" tires clear with flat fenders and aftermarket bumpers. I had to do some minor trimming of the rear pinch seam.

Keep in mind that the higher you lift your jeep, the more expensive it gets because more things need replaced or modified.

My rk 3.5 gave me the advertised height, maybe a 1/4" more. Thats with heavy bumpers, sliders etc.

My only experience with RK is on my friends jeep. He seems to like it a lot. But I have the teraflex 4in short arm lift, with 1in coil spacers on top to give me a little extra height. So far I love it. It clears my 37 in nitto mud grapplers and has a perfect stance. I'm very happy with teraflex so far. It rides and drives great. I would strongly recommend you get the high steer kit. My jeep drives so good with the flip kit. I went with the evo flip kit.

Ghost-any issues with clearances on the Evo flip kit?
