I too an befuddled as DW is caused by the axle shifting from side to side and would not be affected by the shocks....hmmmmm....track bar, ball joints, loose control arms I can see.....hmmmmm.....sorry, no idea.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either. I was hoping someone could chime in if this has happened to them. I have seen people use shock relocation brackets, but most of them actually shorten the travel a bit.

Don't take it the wrong way , but you messed up somewhere and you finally fixed it when you put the stock stuff back

No way shocks caused DW , somewhere in your lifting you didn't do something right and finally did right the last time

I just re read something that you said , did you adj your track bar after you lifted it even more

And how is your caster the same after you lifted it that much

That's a little slow to be getting DW. I've had DW in my previous jeep on several occasions and it was always around the 50mph mark. However, your speed is about how fast I was going when my brakes would grab because my steering wheel wasn't centered.

I agree, it doesn't make any sense. I put everything back to start over again in a few days. I am going to skip the coils for now and just try the shock switch again.

Regarding the trackbar, I did not adjust it to offset the axle shift when I had the new coils on. I thought it would dog walk a bit if anything, but not seize up on the road.

Regarding caster angle, not sure why that didn't change..

I did adjust the draglink. The steering wheel was centered.

Like I said, I was upgrading a lift I have already put on. I've never had these problems, so I found it odd that the shocks were giving me issues.

Sorry to go off topic but how much taller is it with the new coils than the old setup?

Not off topic at all. It raised the front 2" more, which is more than I wanted. I was hoping it would raise it an inch and then I would remove the body lift (to come back to the original height).

With the 18/59 springs, bb spacer, 35" tires (measuring 33.5" at 27 psi), and flat fenders, the ground to fender measurement is 45". The new coils put it at 47".

I'm already over the coils, they are too high. I want to keep the shocks if possible, but there are a few concerns.

1) I'm worried they will bottom out (or bottom up? ) since the height isn't there.
2) The ride wasn't any better when I replaced my setup and left the new shocks on. I did retorque and check everything with the new shocks and old coils.
