Default Poison Spyder hood louver

So I really want to order one but was wondering while reading the directions about the optional cut lines for the bottom two louvers.
Did you guys that have installed this cut those also or just the top louvers??
I am running a K&N could air kit (it sucks and want my stock one back with snorkel) and was thinking if I cut all holes then my cold air intake will get wet???
Anyways pics and tips on install would be great!!!

I have this installed and did not cut the optional area as it was discouraged. I can tell you that I don't notice any huge amounts of additional wetness in the engine area.

Hardest part is making the first cut. The template they provide was spot on and made it extremely easy.

The only thing I would caution is don't go crazy with the cutting tools. The sheet metal on the JK is paper thin and you don't want to cut the "X" brace that is just under the skin.

Thanks man and it looks great I think I will pull the trigger. I just hope the primary cuts cool the engine enough for my jeeps first hot Georgia summer. I have so hail damage so it will cover that.
Any concerns about the louver rattling and scratching and possibly rusting the hood because of its massive size and minimal cutouts??

The part I ordered is powder coated. I would suggest hitting the cut edge with some rustoleum after cutting. Once you cut holes in your hood, you won't want to take it off.

Oh yeah the heat pours out...you can watch it.

No rattles, there are something like 24 bolts, plus the footmans loop and bumpers holding this on.

Just hit the raw cut edges with a little paint to prevent rust.

Do it!! I didn't cut the optional part on the bottom, it's just 2 extra louvers.
