Default Melted my carpet what now..

I relocated my muffler when I installed my Hemi. About two weeks ago on the way to Moab I MELTED the rear carpet and floormat right above the muffler. Should i go to a diifferent muffler or try to relocate it elsewhere or ??? I stopped and wrapped it in heat shield. The floorboard still got warm on the highway but nothing else melted.

Pull the carpet and put some bed liner in the tub

I would heat wrap the exhaust, or utilize some other heat shield material on bottom side. Plus, pull carpet then bed line it.

Take off the wrap and build a proper heat shield.

Or you could use bedliner and enjoy the smell of melted carpet and melted rubber

Lizard skin bed liner/undercoating has a version with ceramic in it that helps disperse the heat. So I guess I agree with the others; heat shield, bed liner

Heat shield. It will eventually weaken the metal, melt paint and cause body issues.

The problem is the Hemi itself. I would remove it and trade for my stock 3.8, as I actually have a sick fettish for the smell of burning carpet, and rubber.
