Default Bumper Build...How should I mount the Clevis (shackle D-ring) Mounts... with Drawing!

Hey all, I'm building a front bumper and I have a quick "what do you think?" for you guys.
SO here is the down and dirty. Front bumper build...
  • 4x6x3/16 wall tubing for main bumper
  • 3/16 plate added and mount (bolt on) location
  • Added plate will be stitched welded and rosette weld to main bumper
  • weld on mounts will be 3/4 to 1"
  • I know how to weld!
  • I know that through mounting the clevis mount is best, but not sure if I want them in so far.
  • Aloha is cut out of the bumper.
  • Clevis mount will be welded from inside of any flush mount with either a cut out or rosette welds.

I have a drawing add so you can see my other ideas. I like all of them for different reasons. So take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks... I'm also Open to other ideas.

I would go with the first option, welded through the bumper.

My buddy made the D ring mounts separate and then mounted them with the same bolts that were used to secure the bumper to the frame.

What is the base plate thickness??? And wouldn't these be the same as surface mounting them. I have looked at the bolt on ones too...some look to be CNCed out of one piece. Others look to but just a mount welded to a plate.... to me that's the same as just mounting them to the bumper. No?

I am not sure off the top of my head the thickness, but my friend made the D ring plate. He cut the plate so the D ring went through the plate then welded it from the back and around the front. Maybe a tad overkill, but it apparently was the theme for the rest of the bumper as well! I am by no means a fab guy, but I am trying to learn. (on my bucket list)

Here is my buld if you interested.
