my attempt at water resisting the bestop summer combo.
well, actually its the bestop windjammer, and quadratop tonneau cover. (i was pleased to find out they work interchangeably since some of quadratop stuff is back-ordered for months) i took pvc pipe insulation and put a velcro strap through it and attached it to the roll bar in-between the door, and since i used my freedom panels instead of a bikini top i had a gap between my top and the sound bar. i put the rest of the insulation in there. now, its not the prettiest thing ever, but it doesnt look TOO bad i think. i may wrap it in a material to match the soft top eventually. i also made some wood to lift the tonneau so that water wouldnt pool up in the middle. its flimsy, but it was more or less to test if it would work before i make a beefier one.
overall i think it turned out pretty well. my roll bar still gets damp, but there's no helping that, but my seats and floor have almost zero water on them (except where my freedom panels already leaked in the front) hopefully this will help some other people who are wondering about it. total cost just under 15 dollars by the way.

so after about 6 hours of pretty heavy rain, the straps that hold the windjammer are saturated now, so the water travels through them and drips occasionally behind the seats. the area right behind the seats is wet, but the carpet around my amps under the seats is still dry. my headrests are a bit damp too. and the area where the tonneau wraps around the rear portion of the rollbar lets a little moisture in, so the carpet by the tailgate edges is a little damp now, but not saturated. i set my subwoofer on wood blocks so it doesn't sit on wet carpet. no water has gone through the material itself.
so overall, this top seems good for getting caught in the rain and for up to around 3-4 hours of moderate/heavy rain with few modifications if you have sensitive electronics inside. if i didnt have this sound system, this amount of moisture wouldn't bother me at all. now that i know the trouble areas i can probably find a way to prevent even more water though.
