Default Toyo Open Country

So i have been looking at getting new tires and from my research I have found that the Toyo Open Country M/Ts have really good reviews. The two questions atht I have are....1) Does anybody have any complaints about them? 2) what does the load range mean and affect the ride

The only complaint out there is the weight. They are a heavy tire. Load range E means that it will have stiffer, higher ply side walls for heavy loads. I run mine at 28 psi and have no complaints about the ride. Great tire on and off road.

My bro runs 37's - they are heavy! I like the Trail Grappler's - same look and I think they weigh less.

Took me 2 months of research before I put out the money for tread. I love my tires. Worth the money. I run about 35 PSI and think the ride is very nice. The tires are so perfectly balanced. You know a MT is suppose to be rougher then a AT, but these really do ride nice. Even the shop owner, who had no experience with TOYO before, said they were very easy to mount and is now recommending this brand to people. The heavy duty sidewall is nice for me because I usually wheel or camp alone, so anything to decrease my risk of puncture is worth it to me. As for the weight and that hurting performance, I dont believe I would notice a difference with a lighter tire. But then I dont have bumpers, extra skids, lift and 35s... so my Jeep can absorb a little more then if you add all those factors together.

Off-road they are awesome. I admit that I dont go anywhere crazy like many of these guys on here, but for the trails Ive been down and while camping, these tires have been overkill. They really are great for play while they handle really well on the road. I have small kids and my wife drives the Jeep more then I, so on road safety was the first priority.

I stayed away since they are heavy. However, they are high quality tires. I'd prefer C-rated and then D-rated.

I am on my second set of Toyo M/T's. Yes it is a heavy ass tire. With the wheel mounted they are checking in at 100lbs a wheel/tire. I am running 33/12.5/20. I installed 4:88's and I get 18.5ish mpg with these in pretty much perfectly mixed driving. I get 20 adverage easy on the hwy if I reset the economy while on the hwy. I recommend the superchips with the trans tune option if you have an auto as well. You can adjust all your shift points And down shifts with it and it has single handed made a TON of difference in the way my rig drives. When just casually accelerating and tuning the trans to go an extra 10mph before shifting makes it much more pleasant to drive. I think I have mine set to shift out of first at around 19 or 20 mph under normal driving and like 30 from second to third 45ish from 3rd to od. I have it set to where od can not kick in before 45 period end of story. I think stock it would be on od by the time I hit 25 and you had to damn near floor it to get it out of it. You can also set the percentage of throttle applied to in any gear to get it to kick down. It was the single best investment I have made on the jeep. Without it, the gears, and having an auto was pure misery driving with these tires.

I've used these tires for 2 years now and love them.
Solid on road performance and off road, They got me places that i didn't think I was going to make.

Good luck
