Default Which D44 knuckle gusset?

Wen out wheeling in the new JKUR this weekend and had a great time. Two of the guys that were there mentioned that I should weld on some knuckle gussets if I plan to wheel much, (which I do).

I have spent a fair amount of time researching and reading about this this morning and have come to the conclusion that they are right... But which ones? I have looked at the TeraFlex, EVO, and Rock Krawler ones. I think I like the RockKrawler ones the most... I have a smaller welder and I'm worried about proper weld penetration with the 5/8" thick TeraFlex ones. Both the TF and RK state ball-joint removal is unnecessary.

I am planning on running stock tires until they are worn, but then will be going with 35s, so for now this is a preventive measure.

Any suggestions over the ones I listed or even ones I hadn't thought of and/or listed? Your thoughts and experiences are greatly appreciated.

Artec makes good gussets if your going to gusset it then might as well put a truss on too then you'll have a much stronger axle

Find a shop that has a good argon fed miller TIG welder and do it your self if your skills are up to par. Or have a certified welder do it for you.

If I was closer I would weld it for you for free since Im a certified aircraft welder

All quality products by great companies.
I had the EVO on mine. I also installed a set of TF.

The key is good weld with proper penetration. You can just stitch weld and let cool between welds.

Artec or Evo are both very nice, can't go wrong with either.

Thanks for the quick responses... It sounds like most of you went with the EVO ones... Did you weld with the Ball-Joints in or remove them?

I am trying to keep my hands out of as much as possible but still protect and prepare my Jeep for the future. I have yet to do the first oil change. I have been wavering on whether I should bite the bullet and do this to keep from having an issue or wait until later to preserve warranty. (I'm thinking that they would argue with me should I have an issue even though my efforts are to keep from having one.)

I did the Artec front armor system (c gussets, truss, lower control arm skids) and installed Synergy ball joints all at the same time. Working out good so far.
