Aftermarket Stereo Voltage question
I drive a 2011 JKU Black Ops Edition and I have installed a Sony XNV-770BT stereo. I've had the stereo for a little over 6 months. This unit has Tom Tom navigation built in utilizing its 7" touch screen. It also has bluetooth for music and phone calls. I have an XM Radio module and steering wheel controls adapter installed as well. I installed it myself and it was my first-ever stereo install. I have had several problems with the stereo and I'm aware that this particular line has been discontinued. Here are the problems:
1. The XM radio always jumps to another station when I start the car. If I was last listening to CNN (ch 115), it will jump, usually 2 or 3 channels up, when I next start the Jeep.
2. The Tom Tom doesn't hold the programmed route when making stops along the way. For example, a lunch break or a gas stop.
3. This is the big one. My battery has gone dead more than 6 times in the past 3months. I bought s new yellow top about 6wks ago. The first time it happened, I had taken the Tom Tom module out to update it and left it out overnight. Subsequent times after that have no correlation to the navi. I took it to the dealer and they said there was a constant draw by the stereo even when the ignition is off. A friend helped me test it and the draw is a constant 2.5v. Does this sound unusual?
I don't mind sending the stereo back to Sony if I have to, but I don't want to be without tunes for the next several weeks if I can avoid it.
Any advice?
