I'm thinking it's time to ditch the pro comp es9000 shocks before my Jeep shakes itself loose. What's a nice soft riding shock. Fox 2.0 ,bils or ome. I hate feeling every imperfection in the road. I don't crawl so street performance is my goal. Jeeps got a 4" lift with 35" mickey t atx at 30psi.

 

I don't think that shocks alone will make a noticeable differance.

 

maybe you should look into the rancho 9000xl. How are your tires wearing?

 

Tires are good, need to chalk test them but they are wearing even.

 

Assuming that everything else in the suspension is OK, shocks would make a difference.

Fox or OME are better than Bils.
So is King (if you absolutely insist on paying the price...).

The issue is not so much how "good" are the shocks, as it is the valving, and are the shocks properly valved for the specific coils.

Both Fox and King have shocks which you can tweak by yourself, by turning a knob.
Costs some more, but saves time & money for re-valving, and there's no guarantee you get optimal valving the first time.

 

Fox 2.0 remote res with Evo plush coils are an excellent ride. I couldn't be happier. My last shocks were the Bilstein 5100's. Truth be told the Bilsteins rode softer on road than the Fox. Off road though Fox really shines

 

My king 2.0s are valved especially for my lift. Each one was marked for what corner it goes on. Although I don't think I can personally adjust them. Also have the evo plush ride coils. Couldn't be happier with the ride and handling.

 

You could re-valve and make them softer, but it's either offroad performance or real soft DD.
Fox +res', 4" full Traction. On road, the ride is softer than stock, handling is real good.
If I make the shocks softer, the bump stops would get hit too often offroad.

 

It's mainly for DD. Leaning towards bils as price is reasonable . Just wondering if ome or even Rancho xl are a softer ride.

 

What springs are you running.
