Bought my 2dr JK used about 18 months ago and it came with a hardtop which I like but, I am looking to get a soft top for warmer weather. I am looking for opinions, since I never had a soft top, whether I should pickup a used OEM soft top or get a new Bestop Supertop NX or something similar. Any info would be appreciated and if you know of anything new on sale for a good price that'd be great.

 

You can probably find a used top for half the price of a new one, check CL and eBay and just make sure you get all the hardware and door surrounds. Also check out the Trektop NX if you want to go frameless.

 

I have found a few locally on CL but, last one I found said that the windows were pretty scratched up. I'd probably want to replace them which gets me that much closer to a new top. I looked at the Trektop last summer but, I want one that folds down. IIRC the TT NX doesn't fold down - only the front part flips back.
