Default What is involved with converting a 6" long arm kit down to 4"?

Never thought I'd consider lowering a lifted Jeep but, the 4 door Rubicon with a 6" long arm is huge... I bought it for weekends and taking it to the lake. It has 35" tires that look so small. I either need to upgrade to 38's and gears or try to lower it from 6" to 4". Is it as easy as swapping out the coils or is there a lot more involved? On a TJ I use to have, I went from 4" to 6" with the coil spacers so, I'm hoping it is as easy to go in the other direction...

Thanks,
Todd

Which lift brand? Slapping on the bigger rubber for the lift will give you many other headaches if you wheel it. There is a laundry list of supporting mods for 37 and larger.

Yes, you should just need to swap the coils. Also check the bumpstops you have. After going down, you MIGHT have too much bumpstops.

That way you can keep your current 35" and have a Long Arm 4".

You will have to adjust your track bars to recenter your axles. You might have to adjust your control arms for proper caster. That and as mentioned you might need shorter bump stops.
