So, I've seen multiple threads about this and deciding on which paint to use is not easy. It seems like post people have had the best luck with a bed liner spray, but there's so many to choose from. I want a matte black look, so if anyone can provide with some info I'd really appreciate it. Pics would be a plus. Thanks!

 

Haven't done it yet but I'm planning on plasti dip. Easy and cheap and can be undone if you don't like it.

 

I started with PlastiDip, just to see if I'd like the look. I've had the PlastiDip for a little over 7 months now and have decided to go more permanent. I'm currently in the process of painting the wheels, starting with the spare. I'm just using DupliColor, in satin black to give it the flat or "matte' look. Don't have any pictures yet, but so far so good. I prefer the paint because the finish is much smoother than the PlastDip.

 

I took mine to Maaco. I know their rep sucks, but they painted my wheels for $25 per with a 5 yr warranty. They were a dead nuts match to the mineral grey on the special edition rigs. Worth it to me and looked great

 

Is it wheel paint or the bedliner spray?

 

I plastidipped my wheels and am super happy with the look. Best part is you can peel it off whenever you want!

 

I used duplicolor low gloss engine enamel on stock wheels and semi gloss on my brand new after markets. Both with great results. If metal doesn't come off paint isn't either,
Just prep good. I touch it up about every month anyway tho because rock crawling lol (scrapes and gouges removing paint, not little scratches).

 

Wheel paint, not bedliner. I used the bedliner spray on my rock rails, though, and they came out great.

These were JUST painted, not always this shiny. Yes that's over spray on tire, lol I don't tape tires.
It goes away on its own in a few days. Saves you a lot of time. For touch up, wheels stay on jeep
