Default i'm thinking of trading my 2010 jku for a 2013... what if I keep the hard top for

I have a 2010 sport, s package, dual top. I am thinking about trading it in on a 2013. If i get a 2013 with only a soft top, I would keep my hard top and only trade my jeep in with the soft top. I am 99.999% sure the 2010 top would fit on the 2013...

Would the 2013 with only a soft top from the factory already have the wiring for the wiper and washer fluid, or would I need to add that stuff later?

Has anyone done that, how much did it cost for the parts, how much of a pita was it to install?

You would need to get a wiring kit and then have the dealer activate it to turn on the defroster. I think the wiring is about $150, then whatever they charge in activation plus labor to install if you do it yourself. Depending how much you want to fool with, it might be worth keeping the soft top and ordering the new one with the hard top. You'll get the newer hard top that way which has bigger windows in it.

If I'm not mistaken, if you buy the new Jeep with a Hard Top, it is only $750 extra as compared to just Soft Top.

Then you can sell your 2010 Hard Top for $1200-$1500.

This will get you the better 2013 Hard Top, with bigger windows, and some cash in your pocket.

Thanks everyone. I will see what they say it will cost to add the hard top wiring when I buy it. It might make sense to buy one with a hardtop and reuse my soft top. It will be a minor PITA to find someone to help me put my hard top back on either today or tomorrow, but it would probably make the most sense.
