Default RockKrawler vs Clayton - opinions needed

I am getting very close to getting a suspension lift for the new heep. The two I am currently debating are 1. RockKrawler JK 3.5 X FACTOR PLUS MID ARM SYSTEM and 2. Clayton Off Road Mfg. JK 3.5. Cost is not relevant between these two. It seems new shocks are required for both kits. CORM is completely bolt-on, which means I could do all of the work myself. The RK needs welding of the Rear Cradle, Rear Third Link Mount and Rear Shock Relocation Brackets.

Since I am still a complete newb to suspensions, what puts one of these over the other? What else would I need with either of these kits?

1. RockKrawler JK 3.5 X FACTOR PLUS MID ARM SYSTEM
$1699.00
  • high clearance - high misalignment lower control arms front and rear,
  • high misalignment front upper adjustable control arms,
  • front sway bar disconnects,
  • and long travel stainless steel brake lines.
  • independent three link rear conversion with adjustable anti-squat geometry.
  • The rear axle on the 3.5” X Factor Plus Mid Arm System is moved back 1” to allow for greater clearance between the tire and the factory rock slider
  • rear shock relocation brackets that move the rear shock mounting position up 2 inches for better ground clearance under the lower control arm mounts on the axle.

2. Clayton Off Road Mfg. JK 3.5
$1,899.00
  • 3.5 - Front coil springs (pair)
  • 3.5 - Rear coil springs (pair)
  • JKS swaybar disconnects
  • Rear swaybar extensions
  • Front set of brakelines
  • Rear set of brakelines
  • Front Adjustable trackbar with misalignment spacers
  • Rear trackbar bracket
  • Front bumpstop with allenhead bolt (pair)
  • Rear bumpstop with 2 allenhead bolts with nuts (pair)
  • Front lower double bent adjustable control arms (pair)
  • Front upper adjustable control arms (pair)
  • Rear upper adjustable round bent arms (pair)
  • Rear lower adjustable arms (pair)

There are some guys in AZ that swear by RK. I have yet to see pics of it installed though on a 4-door Rubi.

Please keep conversations limited to these two kits--- please

No question about it between these two I would go with Clayton's lift.

Those two are on my short list too. Hopefully, I'll be doing the build-up this year. Like you I just haven't found much information on either of them.

Thanks for the input. If you will, please qualify your opinion.. do you have any experience you can share regarding RK and why you picked CORM over it? Is there something with the components that makes one better than the other? Is it the reputation Clayton has for building quality kits in the past?

Well, I don't know for sure if rock krawler has gotten better recently or not, but I have heard some questionable things about them in the past. I do know that Clayton has made quality stuff for a long time. In fact we had TJ Unlimited that I was planning on putting a lift on and had done a ton of research and narrowed my search down to Clayton because of all the good things I read about them. Almost everyone that has them swear by them and say they are bullet proof. They also say that Clayton has very good customer service and they take care of their customers when there are problems.

Our TJ was damaged in an accident and we ended up selling and never put any money in it.

Who's selling this. I looked at Clayton's site but no info. I looked at Northridge 4x4 no info. Thank you Fraud for the info. I was wondering about the rear track bar, now I know that there is an optional rear adjustable track bar and bracket. Are there any special links for the rubicon sway bar I wonder?

Northridge indicated they sell the full line of Clayton's products. You could either call Northridge or Clayton directly. Unfortunately, CORM has not updated their website for any JK products.. and I doubt Northridge will add anything until they do. As for the sway bar, I dont have a clue.
