Anyone have success fixing a crushed in stock front bumper?
I hit a pole yesterday that separates parking spaces and put a nice dent in the passenger side corner of my stock front bumper. I may try and do Woods stock stubby bumper mod where you bend over the piece and weld the plastic but I'd like to try and pop out the dent first if possible. Thanks!
Tastes differ and so too wallet contents.
I like the stock bumpers myself.
Just they are useless for hi-lifting.
So I added D-Shakles at all 4 corners for that and a 2" reciever up front.
Now I can change tires and winch front or rear for a lot less money than buying bumpers etc.
Also adding on 4 Hella 5055s is easy on the stock bumper.
And it looks real good.
As if I care what it looks like.
Its a Jeep not a car!

Mine is an '08 Sahara so the silver center part of the stock bumpers looks really nice against the rescue green.
Anyway, I cut a hole in the back, heated it up and was able to pop out the dent. It looks much better but I think I'll eventually to the stubby stock bumper mod anyways because it's only a matter of time before I dent in the corners again on a boulder or whatever.

I pushed mine back out by drilling a 1 1/4" hole with a paddle bit and used a 1/2" x 16" socket extension to push the dent out. Its not perfect but it will do until the cash is around for a new bumper or I can find someone in SE MI, that wants to get rid of their stock bumper.
I was wondering if you could take a stock bumper and fill it with expandable foam insulation. By drilling a hole in the buttom then cutting off the excess. You think this would keep the bumper from collapsing? Mine crushed when I barelly brushed a 1 1/2" tree on a trail. In all honesty I thought I would push it over and didn't realise the bumper crushed until after we got back. I think its a weak spot in the plastic mold.
