Emergency tops help
*** DON'T BUY IT ***
I don't think I have ever had a product fail so bad ... I got mine in a few weeks ago and its decent at first. Build quality wasn't super but not that bad. It was surprisingly very thin, I figured it won't help you in a tsunami but at least a small rain storm should be okay. Well turns out it doesn't do anything.
First rain storm lasted about 15 minutes, wasn't raining very hard, I'd say about a 5 on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 causing local drains to backup and start flooding streets. I was waiting in a parking lot for a few folks so figured I would just throw this on as I could see blue skies in the distance and it was going over quick. Well a few minutes after the rain started I started getting water coming in through the back, just a little bit. I had some water pooling on the top so to prevent any kind of weight issues I pushed it off with my hand. Well it felt surprisingly VERY damp and my hand was a little wet, I was a little worried but was not about to throw it out. The rain stopped and off I went.
Now today, about a week later after the first storm we had some slow but steady rain. I figured I would check on it after about an hour after the rain started. I open my door and the Jeep has Tons of water coming in. Both seats are soaked, water everywhere. I look up and everywhere that it is pooling even a little is letting the water through. It's as if it was never treated for any sort of water resistance what so ever. even the vertical walks were damp and letting water slowly through, the seams ... also letting water through.
Needless to say it was the biggest waste of money ever. I live up in Canada too so shipping cost an arm and a leg and duty on top of that.
If it was my one dying wish I would wish that no one ever spends money on this thing, ever, the pavement ends emergency top was the worst investment I have ever made.
