Default Teraflex front driveshaft

Before I say what I'm about to say, I think Teraflex is a good, solid company. With that said, i just very recently had a TF 4" LCG Long arm kit installed, along with front and rear driveshafts. Had been noticing a vibration when I hit 55-58 mph, getting progressively worse. Took it back to the shop where I had it installed, only to find the front driveshaft was totally shot. The shop worked it out with Teraflex to have the shaft rebuilt locally. When they tore it apart, they found no evidence of grease within the CV joint. I was very disappointed that this happened.

I did pm the TF rep on here, but no answer as of yet. TF did foot the bill for the rebuild, but it does make me think that someone should be looking into the quality control side of things. Maybe it's easier than I think as far as not putting grease within the CV joint, but it was still very inconvenient to say the least. All the other TF components are working out great. Hopefully, this was just a fluke. Anyone else have problems with their driveshafts?

Good to know. I am glad it all worked out for you. Dissapointing having to go through all that though.

Yeah, I really was not expecting this. In fact, at first I thought I blew out an axle u joint. When I got under there, I didn't see anything wrong with either u joints, and I started thinking driveshaft....but....it's brand new and I've come to trust Teraflex very much. But, it's still a pretty significant oversight. My only other thought was maybe TF doesn't send their driveshafts greased, and they allow the installer to do it. But according to the guys that put it in, they should come greased and ready to go. Will make a call to TF Monday...I'm curious whether they typically send their units greased. It's not like Teraflex, so now I'm wondering if the shop goofed.

Teraflex has a DS rebuild on YouTube. I know it doesn't help your situation but its a good vid to see.

Actually I will check it out. Always good to know more. Eventually it will be out of warranty and I'll need to know it. Thx for the post.
