Default No More 2013 Orders

I'll be replacing a LJ Rubicon that we totaled and was waiting to see what the 2014s offer. In the meantime I was seriously considering a 10th Anniv that a dealer has. On Tuesday I told him I'm going to hold off and wait for a 2014, he told me orders were closed for 2013s. I checked with another dealer and got the same information, hopefully 2014 orders. open up in June.

I'm probably going with Flame Red if available but a bright new color choice could tempt me. Really missing a Rubicon with the great weather we're having.

Apparently from what I saw on another forum they can still order them, but only if its a sold order. If they don't select sold order before trying to put it in, the system won't let them.

I can confirm this, I tried to order a 2013 Rubicon in Rock Lobster last Friday and got the same response... don't think Rock Lobster is coming back

I went to my local dealer over the weekend to check out a JKU. Immediately a salesman appeared and I told him I was going to order a 2014. Eventually he brought a manager on board, a cocky, young guy. conversation:

Mgr: would you buy today if I can order you a 2013 Crush.
Me: Here's the Credit Card
Mgr: This is easy i was told Crush is still available and I can still order a Rubicon

Note: my wife got up and walked out, she wanted to just slap him he was so confident.

Me: go do it
Mgr (5 minutes later): Uh, sorry, we can't get Crush and we can't order any more. (he sheepishly departed)

Have I mentioned I hate the car buying experience!! The wait continues.

I was told the end of April was it, and this is what you'll find posted on all the official sites. I placed my order around the 26th of April, my jeep was scheduled to be built on the 24th of this month, but you can only track it if your dealer sets it up for tracking at purchase. You can still email customer service and they'll look your jeep up by VIN. As I understand it, the reason for the cut off is so they can retool for the next line. I suppose they could still put in a late order if actual orders are lower than projected and they know they could finish the build prior to the retool date.
