Default What lug nuts are you using?

I am about to rotate my tires for the first time and the couple times I have taken my spare off the socket is scratching the finish on my wheels (mickey thompson classic III). Figured one of the aftermarket lugnuts might be a smaller outside diameter to allow more room in the deep recess of my wheels. Don't want all of my wheels scratched . Thanks for any help

Do they give enough room not to rub the wheels? I guess your wheels could be different too

I have the black Pro Comp splined ones that came with my wheels. They are trash, rusted and look like hell. The rust runs out all over the wheel. They don't have to look pretty but after a few months and one rotation I didn't think they would look so shitty. May switch to black Gorilla lugs if they hold up better.

I too have the pro comp black lug nuts. The finish on mine came off and rusted pretty quick too.

Can't you use a thinner walled socket or take down the lug wrench a few thou??

The socket I'm using is the thinnest I've been able to find, I have two others that won't fit at all. I guess I will give the gorilla splines a shot in hopes they are a little smaller. Thanks for the replies

yep the spline drive lug nuts are smaller and come with a thin wall socket.
