Default Rock slide engineering sliders vs Teraflex rockguard sliders

Looking at these 2 options. Price seems attractive at around 500 with the teraflex being a little more but aluminum. Any negatives I should know about either?

I have had the TF ones for over a year now and have had no issues. I have come down hard on them and dragged/scraped them and they are holding up well. I looked at the RSE's as well and I don't think you could go wrong with either model. I chose the TF rails mostly because I wanted to keep the weight down.

Only negative is the nutsert installation. I recommend picking up a nutsert tool if you don't have one, the one Harbor freight sells works is cheap but it worked enough to get the nutsert's installed correctly.

That sounds a little low, I believe they have a bare metal option that is cheaper so you might be looking at a set that isn't powder coated. I think I paid 580 for the powder coated set.

Love my TF ones. A lot lighter then even the stock rubi rails. I can't speak for ur other choice, but I picked my TF sliders for the weight and the fact it was a small step for my wife. The nutsert was a pain but doable. I am nervous about the ability of the TF sliders in the big rocks. I haven't dropped the jeep on them too hard yet.

Actually hoping to hear more good things about the Teraflex rails as well. Been looking at both of these for quite some time but just haven't pulled the trigger. Don't see many big rocks so I'm thinking the lighter aluminum will be plenty strong enough. Anyone heard of any horror stories about body damage with these?

How about a frame-mount option like Evo (weld) or LOD (bolt-on with welding optional)? The LOD acts as a step, and Evo can custom angle (for no charge) the slider to act as a step. Either are much stronger than a body-mount install.

If you do go the body mount install, I recommend using a tool for the nutserts. We just installed the Evo rock skins, which require 38 nutserts. We picked up a Westward 5TUW5 from Grainger and had ZERO nutsert issues. In fact, it took about 20 seconds to crimp each nutsert, and they turned out perfectly.
