Lift Kit Parts and Pieces
yes im new, yes ive been searching non stop and yes im not going down the RK or TF kit road as i got some components from a take off that i am wanting to use, its a fabtech "kit", i have the springs, sway bar extensions and a drop pitman arm, i know this is imcomplete and im trying to find the best combo to put together for a nice lift kit, believe it or not i want my jeep to be alittle taller as its just my preference and i dont want aftermarket fenders, i only intende to go with 35's, at the moment, as this is my daily driver but weekend warrior and hunting friend, thats the background so heres what im looking for.....
-Drop pitman arm, i know i need more components and am going to order adj trac bars but will i need a drop bracket to correct everything?
-Can i get away with ordering a rear track bar mount (i.e. RK) and use a adj trac bar for the rear any be good to go?
-Still doing alot of research on drag link flip kits but its looking like this will help geometry in the front but im still looking around for more info.
-Ive seen a few cheaper kits that are around 4 inches without lower control arms so yes im assuming for the time being maybe just incorporating a drop kit will adress the front temp till i order front lower control arms and maybe rears?
please be gentle as i know these may be popular questions for some but its really tough to sit here all day and try and find the answers that are buried in old topics and i just dont have all day to search the internet haha, this may not be the forum norm kit but its what im doing now, this forum is awesome so hopefully i dont get beat up too much THANK YOU!!!!!
here is a pic of what i have, yes they are blue, plan on powdercoating them prior to install

Right now I am fighting a LOT of shimmies in the front suspension. I know I may have ball joint damage at 20,000 miles. But, I also see that the steering shaft is getting tweaked side to side from the drop pitman arm.
My suggestion of components to add/trash?
Keep the springs, get a synergy drag link flip. Get a synergy adjustable track bar and bracket, get an adjustable track bar for the rear, get some rear coil correction plates( to adjusts the spring perch angle). Get some front control arm bracket drop brackets. This will prevent the need for cam bolts( junk like the pitman arm drop). Eventually get lower front adjustable control arms and rear upper.
Trash the drop pitman arm!!!!
I didn't see the year model. If its 2012 up you will need to get exhaust spacers $50. This will allow you to keep the stock driveshaft a while longer until you can afford/justify changing it. I have a stock front shaft and of all the things people said would give my jeep problems with my lift, it is the only thing that truly is not effected. Yet. Haha. I've only gotten "nasty" with my jeep off road a few times since I lifted it though. Some REALLY rocky high centering stuff getting in, through, and out of a 15 mile long rock creek. With a slimy algae lined bottom the entire length of the creek. Sway bar disconnects would have really helped me, but then my driveshaft may have had a harder time with the flexing and twisting.
You will also need to make some brake line drop brackets( ok for normal driving and light wheeling), or buy some longer braided ones to last forever.

Ohh. You will need new sway bar links too. Get some longer for the rear and move the rear to the front. Or get longer rears and longer disconnecting fronts. This is a must do also.

Do NOT use the drop pitman arm. I'm speaking from experience. Haha. I took mine off and threw it away when I was lifting mine and installed a dropped arm. Now, I find that the added torque load the drag link places on the steering arm via the dropped arm is too much. I have bought a synergy drag link flip and I also have to purchase a new stock arm to get the advantages of the new drag link. The dropped arm does help to keep the roll center of the steering inline, but it is a half assed way to do it. Keep the stock arm and add a drag link flip kit to the list. Get a track bar lift bracket and an adjustable track bar too. Much better way to go. It keeps the suspension "parallels" better in line with out adding stress to an already kinda flimsy steering box.

awesome thats exactly what im looking to hear haha, ive been reading about drag link flip and was scared of this pitman arm, i was just unsure if using the stock arm was going to be enough with a adjustable track bar and drop bracket, already planned on the rest of the stuff just seeing what the general concenses was
