What should I expect for ride and gas mileage with lift and 33's?
Guys and gals, I dont have anyone local to ask and would appreciate your help.
My 2012 JKU Rubicon (auto tranny with 4.11 rear) now has 37,000 miles and the stock tires will need to go soon. I commute 65 miles daily with most on interstate at 70 mph. My off-roading is primarily mud, but day to day driving is my primary concern.
My local shop is recommending an AEV 2.5" lift with Toyo 33's for good drivability and a quiet ride. How would this set-up handle and ride on the highway? Would moving up to 35's be much different on handling and gas mileage?
Thank you for any input from those running similar set-ups!

i previously had a 2012 jku w/6sp and 3.73 and put 35'' Fierce attitudes w/3.5'' lift - the jeep would avg 17.5 mpg. I currently have a 2013 2 dr auto 3.21 with 33'' fierce attitudes and leveling kit - jeep averages 18.5 mpg. If mpg is your concern I would focus on the tire weight, from my experience I believe the lighter the tire the less mpg you will drop. If you go w/the 2.5 lift 35's would look be the perfect fit and your 12 with the 4.10's should have no problem with them. Keep in mind that you may want to consider a programmer to recalibrate the shift points and speedo. Tires like the Goodyear Duratrac, Fierce Attitude, and Kelley TSR are all pretty aggressive and on the lighter side for their size. In my opinion the gain in appearance is worth the trade off of a little bit of mpg and you will read many threads from those who have gone 33'' and wish they went with 35''. So my vote would be go to with one of the brands who make a lighter 35''. Good luck!

I also have the Fierce Attitudes in 33", added the AEV CA relocation brackets, Pro comp 9000 shocks, Flashpaq. Rides and drives nice, I know this because the wife says it does. She loves how it looks and drives now.
Low 17s to mid 18s on mpg depending on the right foot.
Not the same year or engine, but with my 09 jk with 3.21 gears six speed, 33s and a 4 inch lift on the highway I could get 21-19 MPG at 65. In town I would average 18MPG. With my current 2013 Rubicon I get 22 MPG at 65 on the interstate with 3.73 gears and the 5 speed auto. If you have 4.10 gears I would expect your MPG on the highway to improve and your in town driving to go down slightly.

X2 on modifying fenders for 33s I'd add a pair of JKS ACOS up front to accommodate any extra weight, sagging, or a need to level.
