Default mopar dana 44 front "rubicon axle swap

I have a 07 4dr X with anti spin rear axle and 4:10 gears with ESP. I have a front dana 44 "rubicon" axle ordered. My question is will this bolt right up to the driveshaft or is the pinion longer? u-joint different? I am installing a 4" lift at the same time. Thanks in advance!

The axle will be a bolt in swap. That much lift will require you to change ds.

What do you mean by "no spin rear axle?"

The axle should be a direct bolt in, but you will need some additonal items to control the locker in your new axle.

Blue, has a good point in that you might need to replace your driveshaft due to the 4" lift.

I would suggest you read through this thread for more info, others are performing this mod and should be able to help you out.

Yes, it will bolt right up without any problems. As far as drive shafts go, if you have a 6-speed, you will be just fine with your factory shaft - I am running this setup now. If you have an automatic, you will need to at least trim your automatic tranny skid to prevent the driveshaft boot from contacting it at a droop. But, you should otherwise still be fine with the factory shaft.

now is that only on a 4dr that u dont have to swap the ds or can u run a 4'' lift with 35's with 6spd and not have to change shafts. I am really wanting more lift but dont want to change my ds, i only do moderate wheeling and dont want to spend the money on ds yet. please let me know.

You guys are great! thanks for the thread link, I searched all before I posted question and didn't see it. I have factory trac-lock-I believe-as they are calling it anti-slip on the build sheet. Auto tranny. will post after install.

You can get by on a 2-door if you have a 6-speed but your rear shaft will be at a sever enough angle that the CV boots will be at a state of constant pinch. This will cause them to wear out prematurely but even at that, they will be good to go until that time. Needless to say, if you have a 2-door, you might want to consider changing out your rear shaft with a double cardin u-joint style shaft but you will need to get adjustable upper control arms as well as they are needed to set your pinion angle.

Default rubicon oem dash switch

I would like to put the oem dash switch in along with the front rubicon axle. 4wd has the switch part # 04602508ae, this switch includes the sway bar switch. I would like to know if anyone has a rubicon with esp and not the electronic sway bar. I need the vin # so my parts guy can look up the sales code for that switch. or if anyone here works at a jeep dealer and can get me that part#. If you don't want to post your vin here, you can call me toll free 18775409908
