Default Rugged Ridge XHD rear tire carrier hanging low?

Does anybody else have to lift the tire carrier onto the bumper when closing it? Its progressively gotten lower and lower and more difficult to close over the last 2 years. Ive tried tightening the castle nut on the pivot but it isnt helping at all.

Mine is doing the same, it is a poorly made product. I took mine and pulled up on the arm until it sit about a half inch above the bumper. Now when I close it I have to push down on it slightly but it works better and stopped a lot of the rattles.

Yuck, I was afraid of that. I removed it for the time being. It was getting to be such a huge PITA to open and close. Especially since the latch pin was getting stuck too. I had to shake the crap out of it just to pull the pin.

Everyday I see a new complaint about this thing...I regret buying one even though I have had no issues with it thus far
